Inleiding De opvattingen over de wisselwerking tussen economie en demografie zijn in de geschiedenis van het economisch denken lange tijd gedomineerd door Malthus (1798). Deze stelde namelijk dat de bevolkingsgroei de neiging vertoont zich uit te breiden boven de bestaansmogelijkheden. Daardoor zou de bestaanszekerheid in gevaar komen en daarvan zou een negatieve invloed uitgaan op de bevolkingsomvang. Zo'n 200 jaar na het verschijnen van Malthus' werk kennen we, in de rijkere landen althans,1 evenwel een uitgebreid en omvangrijk stelsel van sociale zekerheid, dat niet alleen expliciet gericht is op het verschaffen van bestaanszekerheid, maar tevens de economische en demografische ontwikkeling kan beinvloeden. Dit betekent, dat bij een integrale analyse van de wisselwerking tussen economie en demografie tevens de sociale zekerheid daarbij moet worden betrokken. En dit betekent voorts dat een analyse, die zich uitsluitend zou beperken tot de gevolgen van demografische ontwikkelingen voor de sociale zekerheid, aan deze wisselwerking geen recht doet

Social economy as social science and practice : historical perspectives on France

This article aims to investigate the multiple meanings of "économie sociale" ("social economy"), a term which first appeared in France at the founding moment of modern capitalism, both as a concept in the framework for the creation of a social science in close relation with the tradition of classical, Christian and socialist economists, and also to establish an ensemble of social practices and institutions. A historical perspective shows the close yet ambivalent relationship between these two principal connotations. Stemming from this, the conclusion presents some new research orientations towards social economy as a social science and social practice.social economy ; social science ; France

Les conflits d'usage des espaces périurbains et le contentieux administratif. Le cas de la région Ile-de-France..

L’article porte sur une analyse des conflits d’usages d’espace, traduits par les requêtes devant la justice administrative française de 1981 à 2005. Le terrain d’étude est le périurbain francilien, territoire qui connaît une forte urbanisation et où la diversité des modes d’occupation du sol nécessite une meilleure compréhension de la dynamique spatiale et temporelle de la conflictualité. L’étude empirique montre une corrélation entre l’augmentation des conflits d’usage en Île-de-France et la dynamique de périurbanisation. Elle met en évidence un couplage entre certains types de conflits et certaines caractéristiques du territoire : les problèmes d’urbanisme font souvent l’objet conflictuel dominant dans les communes plutôt aisées, tandis que l’opposition aux infrastructures publiques se situe fréquemment dans les communes à forte urbanisation. Les nuisances des installations classées sont souvent localisées dans des communes plutôt peu aisées.The article provides an analysis of land-use conflicts extract from the rulings of French Administrative Courts from 1981 to 2005. It focuses on Paris’s suburb, where the urbanisation process and the diversity of land-use require a deeper comprehension of the problem. Our results show that the land-use conflict’s evolution is correlated with the urbanisation process. They also detect a coupling phenomenon between conflict’s type and territory’s parameters : urbanism disputes often arise in wealthy municipalities, whereas oppositions to public infrastructure have particularly risen in strongly urbanising towns.
